What we plan
Four lines of work, one steady method. Each engagement is shaped to the property, the operation, and the season.
Farm layout & infrastructure
The arrangement of a farm decides how much work it costs to run. We plan field layouts, lanes and access routes, fencing systems, and the siting of the farmstead itself, so that gates, water, and machinery line up with the way the place is actually worked.
For properties that grew up piecemeal, we draw out what is there, identify what is fighting against the operation, and lay out a phased order of improvements. For new purchases or land coming back into production, we plan the layout before the first dollar is spent.
Crop & soil programs
We provide practical guidance on what each field can carry and how to build it over time: rotations, ground cover, soil-building priorities, and the sequencing that keeps fields productive without wearing them out.
Programs are written around the ground truth of the property, field by field, and reviewed each season. Where soil testing or agronomy beyond the practice's scope is needed, we say so and coordinate with the appropriate specialists.
Drainage & water management
Water is the longest memory a property has. We walk wet spots, outlets, ditches, and tile patterns, and plan how water should move across the farm in a wet spring as well as a dry August.
Planning covers barnyard water, runoff paths, and stream-bank and slope considerations where they apply, and lays out drainage work in an order that avoids tearing up ground twice. Where engineering sign-off is required, we coordinate with licensed professionals.
Barn & outbuilding projects
We handle the planning and coordination side of barns, sheds, and outbuilding repairs: siting, layout, how stock and machines move through the building, and the sequence of trades from footing to finish.
Owners get a clear written brief they can hand to builders, and builders get a project where the questions were asked before the concrete truck arrived. For repairs, we help decide honestly whether to mend, re-purpose, or replace.
Plain steps, honest scope
Every engagement begins with a conversation and a walk of the land. Findings become a written plan with clear phases. Where the plan calls for coordination, we line up the trades and the timing. And after the work is done, we come back and check it against the plan.
We take on a limited number of properties so that each one gets real attention. If you would like to talk through what your land needs, the first step costs nothing but the call.
Not sure which line of work fits?
Describe the property and the problem. We will tell you plainly where to start, or if someone else is the right call.
